8 Things I Heart #2

Saturday
Weather: Sunny (21 degrees).
Top: White singlet top under a purple cardigan bought in Japan.
Bottom: Black pants (for work) bought in Sydney.
Shoes: Black peep toes bought in Sydney.
Accessories: Bally belt bought in Sydney.

I had work on Saturday so I didn't even get time to change out of my pants before I had to go to my art class. I thought Aveda's all black uniform policy would really work for me as I have a lot of black clothes, but as I was picking out what to wear to work I realized how little work-appropriate black pieces I possessed. This ultimately gives me an excuse to buy more black clothes which I have been trying to avoid these past few months.

However, I shall not spend carelessly anymore. I shall save and invest. Save and invest. Save and invest. I heard repeating things usually makes you more motivated to put things in action.

I ♥ Othello (manga).
I ♥ Petticoats.
I ♥ Herbal Tea.
I ♥ Boys with Eyeliner.
I ♥ Ruffles.
I ♥ Paradise Kiss.
I ♥ Matt Damon.
I ♥ Lavender.

I just finishing reading the 7 volumes of Othello (name is based on the game, not the Shakespearian play, although the name of the game was based on the Shakespearian play so you can conclude that the manga was based on the play...) and I thought it provided a really interesting look into the concept of the "self". If you read the manga lightly, it's fun and cute, you know girl with a split personality, Yaya is shy and submissive and Nana is cool, agressive and always there to save Yaya's ass, but if you look closer it really makes you think about the different sides to a person. It questions whether you hide parts of yourself in order to sustain a certain image. I also loved the Gothic Lolita costumes in it =)

I wanted to buy a Petticoat in Harajuku but my host sister wouldn't let me because she said it was embarrassing. *Cries* Now I wish I did because petticoats are so pretty.

Herbal Tea is healthy and I drink it a little too much for my bladder to handle.

I don't really have an opinion on Emo's, apart from the fact that a lot of them dress the same. But I do like Boys with Eyeliner. Am I weird?!

I want all my clothes to have lovely Ruffles in them. I want a petticoat!

Of course I said before how much I love Paradise Kiss, not only for the story and artwork but also for the fashion. I just bought all 5 volumes at Kinokuniya. Yay!

I'm loving Matt Damon right now because he's such a good actor and he has spunk (he was also in Australia last week). Anyone want to catch the Bourne Ultimatum with me?

Lavender is my favorite flower because I can't get over how good it smells.
