DNA @ Gas & Bohem

Friday night I went clubbing at Gas and since it was Devil’s n Angels you could dress up as a er, devil or an angel. As I'm normally an angel I thought I would get out of my comfort zone and become a devil that night. I looked everywhere for a red dress but could not find one which didn't look cheap so I just ended up buying horns and the most gorgeous Louis Vuitton inspired shoes (which were utterly painful).

I know it's a short dress but I was sensible enough to wear black bike shorts underneath.

You know the statement “Angel in disguise” has always been quite a curious description. Are they trying to say the angel is disguised as something else, or that something else is disguised as an angel?

Later on, my friends dragged me to Space where Final Showdown was on. I ran into heaps of my friends there including Maggie. We both went up on stage and shook our ass to My Humps and Don’t Cha =P We ran off before they started the booty contest which I happily did not contend in.

I've decided to have a 'Going Away' party before I leave for Japan. It should be on at Bamboo on the 25th of March. I'm going to try send the invitations out by tomorrow. At first I was planning to have a dress up party in which everyone had to dress up as part of a "subculture of Japan", be it Ganguro girls, Fruits or ghetto style bboys. But as Bamboo is in the middle of the city I guess many people wouldn't wanna dress up so... scarily, so do not fear the dresscode has changed to "Sexy Casual" so there will be no embarrassment.

Today my sister put my devil horns on my head and Yan joked for me to wear them to lunch as one of her friends was highly religious and would probably condemn me to hell. That got me thinking about the whole concept of religion.

I am agnostic, that is to say I’m not sure what I believe in but I guess there might be some higher power somewhere. Since I went to a Catholic primary school that higher power for me has always leaned towards the God figure. But having gone to a highly atheist high school and just recently finished reading The Da Vinci Code (yeah I know I’m about 5 years too late in reading all the bestsellers) I wonder if this higher power is a figure us, humans have fabricated in search of hope in something beyond themselves. That’s the power of belief I guess. To believe the existence of something that transcends humans without any proof.

I do wonder though, how far is too far? Let’s just take the Catholic Church for example only because this is the religion I am most familiar with. These days Catholics can generally pick and choose which parts of the Bible they want to follow to suit their lifestyle. I mean certainly there are controversial issues in the Bible which would contradict the freedom and moral value of modern day life, such as homosexuality and birth control. So what do truly dedicated Catholics think of fellow church goers who don’t abstain from sex before marriage? Do you shun them or continue to love them like thy neighbour?

I guess I just want the opinon of anyone who's highly religious to share their thoughts on the other people in their religion who don't necessarily follow the religion as much as they do.
